Tayo Rockson doesn't believe that it is impossible to master multiple trades so he has spent majority of his career as a writer, researcher, speaker, consultant, podcaster, professor, and brand strategist studying human behavior, organizational culture and sustainable diversity and inclusion strategies. Heavily influenced by his lived experiences as the son of a diplomat who grew up in 5 countries and someone who lived under 2 dictatorships, he is committed to eliminating systems of oppression and suppression all over the world.
He believes that being Black on 4 continents gave him a unique insight into how negatively the world reacts towards differences. This led him to writing and podcasting about the importance of understanding differences instead of seeking to eliminate them. As he started to share his findings and observations through his podcast, As Told By Nomads, his audience grew to be in well over a 100 countries. His podcast has consistently ranked in the top 5 tier of the Top 25 Business Podcasts for Entrepreneurs on Entrepreneur.com since it was launched in 2014.
He continues to translate his findings into frameworks that he uses to foster inclusive environments in workplaces ranging from fast growing startups to multinationals. His frameworks also extend to classrooms in the United States of America and the United Kingdom. He is a professor at the prestigious Imperial College Business School as well as Felician University. He has also launched several campaigns including his national anti-racism campaign called #LetsTalkBias which garnered over half a million impressions on his social media platforms.
As he has established himself as a thought leader in the fields of cultural competency, belonging, accessibility, inclusion, diversity and equity, he has been invited to speak on several stages to share his knowledge including TEDx, the prestigious Chautauqua Institution, and the United Nations. His book, Use Your Difference to Make a Difference has also been recognized as a key resource for individuals and organizations looking to effectively communicate across cultures.
Tayo earned his Bachelor degree in Business Management and Marketing from Liberty University, and his Masters in Business Administration from Fordham University with focuses on Communication and Marketing. In his spare time, Tayo enjoys playing two of his favorite sports (basketball and tennis), practicing his Yoruba and French language skills, being part of Big Brother Big Sisters as a big as well as critically analyzing movies and TV shows.
